"Escorted" Klondike Explorer - 9 Days
Tour along the Yukon Territory's Klondike Highway with stops in Dawson City, Whitehorse, Skagway and Fairbanks, escorted every step of the way.
Day 1: Juneau
We'll greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day as you like. This evening enjoy a welcome reception where you'll meet your fellow travelers and tour director.
Day 2: Juneau - Skagway
Enjoy a tour of Juneau's famous Mendenhall Glacier as well as a stop at the Macauley Salmon Hatchery before your transfer to the airport for your scenic flight to Skagway. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. You'll have time for exploring on your own in this frontier town before snuggling in for the night. (B)
Day 3: Skagway - Whitehorse
This morning enjoy a lighthearted history lesson on a Skagway City Tour. Later, you'll board the cars of the White Pass & Yukon Route railway. Rumble to the summit of White Pass and watch for remnants of the Stampeders' trail along the way. Upon arrival in Fraser, British Columbia, you'll board a motor coach for the continuing journey to Whitehorse, capital city of the Yukon. This evening take in the hilarious Frantic Follies Revue. Go to sleep with a grin still stuck on your face. (B)
Day 4: Whitehorse
Enjoy a free day in Whitehorse for optional tours or a tour to Kluane National Park. (B)
Day 5: Whitehorse – Dawson
Journey aboard our luxurious motor coach to Dawson City in the very heart of the Klondike gold country. (B, L)
Day 6: Dawson
Today is free for optional tours. Choices include a city tour, river rafting, Jeep tours of the Gold Fields or take a motor coach to Tombstone Territorial Park, where options include guided hiking and naturalist excursions. (B)
Day 7: Dawson - Tok
This morning cruise the mighty Yukon River itself aboard the MV Yukon Queen on the way to the settlement of Eagle. From there, you'll board one of our deluxe motor coaches for your journey to Tok, the self-proclaimed 'dog-mushing capital of the world'. (B, L)
Day 8: Tok - Fairbanks
Kick off your day with a fascinating journey on the famed Alaska Highway to the city of Fairbanks. Upon arrival, you'll tour the fully restored Gold Dredge No. 8 to pan for gold and enjoy a delicious miner's lunch, before stopping for the night at your hotel. This evening enjoy a farewell Salmon Bake with your new friends and tour director. (B, L, D)
Day 9: Fairbanks
Your tour ends with a transfer from your hotel to the airport.
